FIRST GENERATION

1. John BELT⁽¹⁾ was born about 1796 in PA. He died in 1847. John made his will 4 Feb 1847, Jefferson T., Adams Co., IN, pr. 23 D 1847 [A:68]. John's will only named the three youngest children, but the others must have received their inheritance as they came of age or married. Jeremiah must have been quite a bit older than the youngest two, as he was named executor and was given land. He was requested to provide education for the two youngest. Children of John & Kitty

He was married to Catherine "Kitty" NELSON on Oct 23 1817 in Fairfield County, OH. D.. Barnett, Justice of the Peace performed the marriage of John and Catherine. John was listed as living in Newton, Licking County, OH at the time of the marriage to Catherine. Catherine "Kitty" NELSON was born in 1798 in Greenfield, Fairfield County, OH. She died in 1860. John BELT and Catherine "Kitty" NELSON had the following children:
